Wedding FAQs

What does ‘Sunny 16′ mean?

All photographers will know this photographic rule well! It’s kinda of the equivalent of being lost in the bush without a compass, and knowing how to use your watch and the sun to work out how to find your way home.

Sunny 16 = on a sunny day: f16, ISO 100, 1/125 (if you want to know what all that means, check it out on Wikipedia here).

iPad! Really? We can get our wedding photos on an iPad?

Yes! Your images presented to you on an genuine Apple iPad2. Check out the iPad at the Apple Store here. All iPads are purchased directly from the Apple Store Australia and carry the full 12-month warranty.

Do we get a disc of our photos?

Yes. All packages include the full-resolution disc of images from your day. Images on the disc are printable with no restrictions, and are unwatermarked.

How much are your wedding packages?

Collections start at $1850 and you can find further pricing for collections here. I love to work with you to give you exactly what you want, and nothing that you don’t. You can even design your own collection if you wish.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

A 20% deposit is required to book your wedding date. Your date is then reserved for you, and the remaining balance is due closer to your wedding date.

What payment methods do you accept?

Bank deposit (preferred), cash, cheque, money order, and credit card via Paypal.

Are you an AIPP accredited photographer?

Yes, I’m a full accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. You can click here to find out more about what that means.

How far in advance should I book my wedding date with you?

As soon as you’ve booked your venue, it’s a good idea to get the other  important parts of your day (such as a celebrant and photographer) organised too. It’s not uncommon for couples to book their wedding date up to two years in advance, and as I take only a limited amount of weddings per month, it’s a good idea to get in as early as you can to avoid disappointment.

What’s your favourite colour?

What an odd question! But, if you must know… I like orange!

I’m going to do my own makeup. Do you have any tips?

Just one – make sure that the foundation you use has NO sunscreen in it! (Sunscreen particles reflect light, which can make your face look much lighter and whiter than it actually is).

Do you offer albums?

Yes. Albums are custom-designed and both contemporary magazine-style or coffee table books, and classic matted albums are available. Some packages include albums and some don’t. In some packages you can choose between an album or an Apple iPad.

Do we need to meet you before we book?

You don’t need to meet before you book, but I’d definitely love to meet with you sometime before your wedding. Often couples who are getting married in the Hunter, but live in Sydney or Melbourne, book online and then meet closer to their wedding date when they’re in the area with wedding preparations.

Can you recommend any other wedding suppliers that you’ve found good to work with?

Sure can! Check out the sidebar on the blog for links.

Do you like chocolate?

Yes. My favourite is Cadbury Snack.

Where can I see more of your photos?

You can have a look at the website gallery here, check out some recent work on the blog here, ‘like’ Sunny 16 on Facebook here, ask to have a DVD slideshow + info pack posted to you, or meet with me to check out some albums.
